Wilshaw admits “I was wrong to dismiss teachers stress”

Sir Michael Wilshaw has backtracked on a comment he made during his tenure as Ofsted Chief Inspector. Refering to his comments in an interview with the TES he stated his one regret was where he said about teachers “not knowing what stress is”.

He made the comments during his intial months as Chief Inspector and recently conceeded that “Knowing what I do now I wouldn’t say that” even though he went on to say he was misquoted at the time.
