Primary teachers are key to good behaviour in teenagers

A recent study by the University of Cambridge has found that children who have a strong and positive relationship with a primary school teacher become less aggressive and disruptive teenagers.

The study discovered that the greatest impact was in students at the age of 10-11 with the effects on a positive relationship with a teacher lasting well into the teenage years. It found that a good student-teacher relationship greatly influenced pro-social behaviours as well as greatly reducing classroom issues such as aggressive and confrontational behaviour.
