New Ofsted regime to be unveilled tomorrow by Sir Michael Wilshaw
The new plans for Ofsted inspection frameworks are due to be unveiled my Sir Michael Wilshaw in a speech tomorrow.
Highlights will include the idea to produce a more cohesive and common inspection framework for all providers including shorter and more frequent inspections. This will mean from September schools graded “good” will be visited every 3 years to spot signs of decline instead of every five years as is currently the case. Another key plan is to bring all Ofsted inspectors in-house.
The new proposals have been supported by 68% of respondents back in February when they were initially proposed in a consultation.
Inspectors will no place a grater importance on the breadth and suitability of the courses and curriculum offered by providers.
