Head of Harris 6th Form Westminister wants his students to run the UK

A brand new school opened in September 2015 to mixed feelings. Harris Westminster 6th Form, a brand new state of the art school opened its doors to 140 pupils who will all be studying A levels and has 600 applicants for next year already.

The school’s main aim is to break down the boundaries and barriers preventing students from disadvantaged backgrounds from studying at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. The 6th form will be openly selective inviting the brightest pupils who will all go through a vigorous interview and entry exam. Headteacher James Hanscombe is determined that this project will help students from the most deprived backgrounds to achieve outstandingly academically and in the top echelons of society.

However the location and cost of the schools have come under criticism especially in times of cutbacks and austerity.
